Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR)
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) is a specialized type of psychotherapy that helps the brain to reprocess upsetting and/or traumatic memories.
Through re-processing intense emotions, sensations, and memories are processed and appropriately stored away. EMDR aims to identify how the memory or life experience has made us feel about ourselves; looking at both negative and positive beliefs.

EMDR uses the brain’s natural healing process to help work through memories, emotions, and body sensations. This is done using bilateral stimulation, activating the left and right sides of the brain at the same time.
Bilateral stimulation occurs using the senses; moving your eyes back and forth, listening to sounds in left & right ear, or holding buzzers in left & right hands.
